About Me: The Person Behind E-collegehelp

Hi, my name is Anna and I'm the creator of e-collegehelp. Back in 2001, I was an immigrant who did not know where to begin her journey when it comes to getting a college education. I figured that many people must be in this same position. So, upon my college graduation and after I got settled at my first job out of college, I set out to create this web site in order to help students, just like I was, who need a little help in achieving their dreams through their college education.

I want to start off with my first stop: community college. My very first and clever decision in my college life was this first crucial step. While there, I was able to meet my good friends who I still stay in contact with until today. I do believe that part of my success today as a person and a professional lies on the fundamental skills that I learned while I was in community college. These skills are: my study, interpersonal, writing, and communication (in personal and business relationships) skills. Because community college (for me) was a smaller step compared to going to a university, I felt comfortable there. I was also able to socialize with people who mostly have the same social background as I did. I was also able to explore my options while discovering endless, potential opportunities, my passion and myself.

My friends from Long Beach C.C.
When I transferred to the University of California in Davis (UCD), I knew that the time was ripe for the challenge because I grew so much from a scared little girl to a courageous woman while I was in community college. In addition, I was able to familiarize myself with the American education system so it was no longer alien to me at this point. Transferring to UCD was also an excellent decision, especially as an animal science major, since it carries the reputation as one of the good schools in California.

My journey sounds easy from reading it here in this section. However, getting a college education was anything but easy especially if you have to financially support yourself by working part-time. There was one quote that I heard one time and it stayed stuck in my head until today. The quote said, "Nothing worthwhile is ever easy." After everything that I have gone through, the message of this quote remains true because I found that if I do something that is difficult or risky, the rewards are usually tremendous.

Aside from helping current and future college students, I also created my web site for the purpose of spreading the word that having a college degree really does make a difference if a person wants to have a more stable future, financially and emotionally. Not only does college make a lot more career opportunities available to individuals, it also makes them more open-minded to other cultures and worldly ideas that are out there in the world. This educational experience, in turn, makes our communities and societies better to live in. I have seen these benefits and developments in my own life and I hope that many individuals, young or old, may be empowered by these things so that they can start their journey in getting a college degree.

Good luck with your own journey and I hope that the little advice and tools that I give you here makes your college life a little bit easier.
